[EN] In collaboration with the WMO/VLab Centres of Excellence in training on satellite meteorology, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) is organising an online training course for the African meteorological user community.
In light of the current global call for social distancing, the 2020 course will be conducted exclusively online, with facilitators adjusting the delivery method and the assessment methods and tools to continue to engage with participants and to effectively teach satellite applications and skills. The online course will take place from 4 May to 26 June 2020.
This satellite applications course will help you improve skills in identifying key weather systems and features found in Africa and their characteristics in satellite imagery and products. You will develop professional relationships with course participants and explore the use of a variety of web and mobile-based applications for communication and learning together.
[FR] En coopération avec les centres d’excellence (laboratoire virtuel de la formation satellitaire de l’OMM), l’Organisation Européenne pour l’Exploitation de Satellites Météorologiques (EUMETSAT) organise une formation au profit des utilisateurs de la communauté météorologique africaine. Le cours sera dédié pour des participants francophones.
Les années précédentes, ce cours sur les applications satellitaires comprenait des ateliers face-à-face dans les différents CdE’s, mais à la lumière de l’appel mondial actuel à la distance sociale, aucun atelier face à face ne sera envisagé pour le cours 2020. Le cours 2020 sera dispensé exclusivement en ligne, les animateurs ajustant la méthode de prestation et les méthodes et outils d’évaluation afin de continuer à s’engager auprès des participants et à enseigner efficacement les applications et compétences satellitaires. Le cours en ligne se déroulera du 4 mai au 26 juin 2020.
